Rivers state Ministry of Education came up with a recruitment exercise for 13,000 teachers in the Rivers state schol which about 43,000 Nigerians applied for. both indegens and non-indegens bought recharge cards to enable them write the aptitude text.
After the examination was written, list of successful candidate was pasted at the Rivers State Secretariat and Rivers State Primary Schools Board respectively with the cut off mark of 155.
Candidates went, checked their names and those whose names were found, were happy and getting ready for their interview dates to come up. but unfortunately for them, on the 2nd day of the Interview, an order was declared by the Rivers State house of assembly to discontinue with the interview process saying the schools board which were suppose to be-in charge of the recruitment process are not aware of it.
That day when the process was stopped, the hopes of 43,000 Nigerians were killed. and no news was made about it wither from the House of assemble, school's Board or even the Ministry of Education and everyone started thinking its a scam.
After a long wait, the state Governor Rt. Hon Chigbuike Rotimi Amaechi ordered the Ministry of Education to continue with the process.
